Frequently asked questions and answers
What does online study entail?
Answer: We use the program Teams for communication between students and teachers, and the program Its learning as an LMS administration tools. At the start of your studies, you will receive an SMS where you get login information to these programs. Training in the use of the programs is provided. This means that as a student, you can study from wherever you want as long as you have access to a PC or similar device, as well as normal functioning network.
What does it mean to study part time?
Answer: Studying part time means that you should be able to continue your normal job activities while completing a study. Teaching sessions are usually added at a time when many students can attend (e.g. 15.00–18.00). In addition to the live sessions, recordings of these are made and saved as videos that you can watch anytime later at your convenience. The teacher will keep in touch with you through different channels to ensure you get the follow-up you need. Learning assignments and tests are normally posted on Its learning. You will normally also be able to take tests and exams online either in written or oral format.
How much study load can I handle?
Answer: It is very personal how much the individual manages to study especially when consolidating work and family. The study load for an ordinary full-time student is 60 credits per year. For part-time students who have work or other demands, we do not recommend taking more than a maximum of half a study, which is 30 credits for two semesters or 15 credits for one semester.
What is Vocational college?
A vocational college offers vocational educations based on upper secondary education. The vocational college programme is a full-fledged alternative to college and university education.
The educational programmes are normally from 30 to 120 study points, depending on the individual program.
Who can apply for vocational education?
Students who have a trade certificate within the relevant programme area or relevant work experience can apply.
