WE ARE ERASMUS

WHAT IS ERASMUS?

The “Erasmus” programme was originally established by the European Union in 1987. It looked to promote closer cooperation between universities and higher education institutions across Europe. This meant setting up an organised and integrated system of cross-border student interchange.

Over time, the programme has expanded in its breadth and depth and is now known as “Erasmus+”. Its extended form is a broad umbrella framework which combines former EU’s different schemes for transnational cooperation and mobility in education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Increasingly, it is also looking beyond Europe.

So far between 2014-2021, over 13 million people have taken part in Erasmus+, thanks to enthusiastic take-up of opportunities by staff, students, young people and learners of all ages. Source: https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/

We are part of this Erasmus+ dynamic!

Entrepreneurship for Green Rural Destinations

In implementing this project, we aim to promote the application of entrepreneurial skills in rural areas, targeted as green destinations to foster several benefits, ranging from economic development, empowering local enterprises in rural areas, increase self-reliance through new skills and competences. Also, we aim to provide educators with new teaching opportunities, enhanced teaching resources, professional development opportunities, collaboration, and networking opportunities. The activities have been designed in a manner to reach as many relevant persons as possible from educators to promising entrepreneurs in rural areas. Activities range from more green sustainable initiatives like webinars, virtual LTTs and also include opportunities for person-to-person meetings allowing for exchange of knowledge, skills, competences and cultural experiences.

Fagskolen Rogaland as coordinator has partnered up with Polygonal North oy (Finland), Perifereiako Gymnasio Agias Varvaras (Cyprus), Cankaya Ilce Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (Turkey), Escola Secundária Cacilhas-Tejo (Portugal) and Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (Ireland).

Experiential Entrepreneurship Labs (EELS)

Rogaland Polytechnic College has been granted funds for an Erasmus+ KA220 project with the title of “Experiential Entrepreneurship Labs” (EELS). The project, which will have a duration of 2 years, will be coordinated by Rogaland Polytechnic College. Our partners in this project are:

CKM Dubrovnik, Croatia
Olemisen Balanssia RY, Finland
TVW (thevisionworks), Germany
Momentum Marketing Services, Ireland
European E-learning Institute, Denmark

Our target groups are:

  1. Young people aged between 16 - 25
  2. Youth educators
  3. Youth serving organisations
  4. Youth, Education and Entrepreneurship Stakeholders

Technical Skills for Harmonized Offshore Renewables Europe (T-shore)

T-shore is a project where five countries and 12 partners cooperate to develop competence within offshore wind and renewable energy.

The project aim is to establish a international private-public cooperation in terms of education, research and development focused on the offshore wind sector. The project aims to strengthen cooperation between all partners and to elevate the already established regional partnerships by using various strategies and activities.

The project will create innovative approaches for skills provision in the offshore renewable energy sector by linking offshore energy hotspots spread across Europe, and to stimulate innovation and collaboration between VET providers, industry, and research institutes.

T-shore sees the possibility to become a regional lighthouse and a vocational center securing development of vocational education to support the offshore renewable energy market as well focusing on new green competence demand in relation to this order to support the green power transition Europe is undergoing.

Under the umbrella of VET and training of global competences, T-shore will seek to address the following challenges:

  1. The need to upscale / re-skill and design new teaching and training programs to meet demands for the fast-growing offshore renewable energy market.
  2. The need for new business models, better private/public cooperation between VET training and education providers and the industry creating sustainable new business models with focus on infrastructure for new VET learning.
  3. The need for international cooperation among VET providers in the offshore field to combine expertise; together we can accomplish much more.
  4. The need to understand which new green job profiles are needed in relation to offshore and the link to new technologies connected directly to the offshore renewable energy market.

The main project goals of T-shore are:

  1. Development and creation of a European network of VET schools and VET training centers in offshore wind energy.
  2. The establishment of strong links between businesses and VET providers and combining these stakeholders to meet the industry’s real skills and training needs.
  3. Defining a range of new competency profiles and developing advanced digital and evidence based educational training methods and materials in a work-based learning environment.
